Art House Productions' Citywide Celebration Returns With Art Aplenty

JERSEY CITY, NJ- Art House Productions, a nonprofit focused on developed and presenting the performing and visual arts in Jersey City, has announced the lineup for the first JC Fridays of 2024 on Friday, March 1.
JC Fridays, Jersey City’s premier quarterly arts festival, is free and open to the public. The citywide event offers a diverse array of activities including visual art exhibitions, live music performances, studio tours, and more, all hosted at local businesses, galleries, studios, and arts organizations.
Visitors are encouraged to explore different venues, interact with artists, and immerse themselves in the vibrant local arts scene. Complete listings and an events map are available at jcfridays.com.
According to Art House, Jersey City boasts one of the most vibrant art scenes in the tri-state area. And JC Fridays provides a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with artists and experience their latest projects and creations.
Event hosts include: ANDCO, Art House Gallery, ART 150, Backroom Arts, Centre Pompidou x Jersey City, City Swipes, Drawing Rooms, Dream Studio, Dvora 175, Dvora Art House, EGGMAN, Eonta Space, Evening Star Studio, Free Maison, Guaicora Studios & Juice Box Bar JC, Hamilton House, The Oakman, Outliers Gallery, Shampoo JC, Team Wilderness, SILVERMAN Building & the Majestic Theatre Condominium, and more.
On March 1, in the Historic Downtown, Dream Studio at #927 at 150 Bay Street will have open house from 1 to 9 p.m. The studio will be featuring the latest work, also offering hors d’oeuvres and the chance to sit for a professional photographer to have a headshot or portrait taken. The photos are free to take, but hard copies or a hi-resolution digital download must be purchased.
Also in Downtown, ANDCO on the second floor at 201 Montogomery Street presents Viva Las Vegas from 5 to 9 p.m. The art show will feature local artists interpretations of luck and chance, and invites guests to “dress to impress” and enjoy a live DJ, food and drinks, games, and more.
In Journal Square, the Centre Pompidou in collaboration with the City, Villa Albertine, and Hudson County Community College, will present the Night of Ideas at 71 Sip Avenue from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. For the first time, the free, interactive, and open-to-all event comes to Jersey City, featuring a celebratory and content-rich night of though leaders engaging with the public on major global issues through a festival of debate, performances, readings, and more.
Additionally in Journal Square, Eonta Space at 34 Dekalb Avenue presents Artist Tree from 6 to 10 p.m. Eonta’s first show of 2024 will “use a self-curating formula” to shape the presentation and highlight the connection between artists based on friendship, respect, and a degree of chance, featuring work by artist Athena Toleda, who was asked to pick two additional artists including Kelsey Reilly and Maria Lupianez, who also were asked to pick two artists each including Sidney Yavelle, cutpasteface, Donna Rega, and Jennifer Ponds.
And in Bergen-Lafayette, Team Wilderness will present a collection of its Photography Club’s artwork at Gallery Cafe Lafayette at 74 Maple Street from 6 to 10:30 p.m. The after school club at the Team Wilderness helps teens embrace their creative side by learning photography, infusing the arts with the wilderness through weekly after-school lessons in photography and monthly trips to the wilderness.
